🌿 Montessori Activities (That Don't Make You Want to Scream)

Okay so technically…
I'm a Montessori mom.
Not because I'm fancy.
But because my mom and my sister-in-law literally own Montessori schools, so my kids had the unbelievable luxury of going for free.
Otherwise?
I would 100% still be confusing Montessori with monastery.
Which… very different vibes.
Also quick note:
👉 we don't call them "toys" in Montessori 👉 we call them activities or work
(yes I roll my eyes too but also… it works)
Here are some Montessori things I have LOVED—especially for travel:

🧳 Travel Activity (a.k.a. Not a Toy)
This is one of those:
👉 keeps them focused 👉 keeps them calm 👉 doesn't overstimulate them into chaos
Which is exactly what you want when traveling.

🧺 THE MAT (Mother-in-Law Approved 😂)
This mat is EVERYTHING.
👉 beautiful 👉 simple 👉 not visually chaotic 👉 actually well made
Also… Montessori moms will silently judge you less if you have this.

🍄 Mushroom Set (For Your Sanity + Aesthetic Joy)
Have you ever seen anything cuter in your life??
I am mushroom obsessed and these make me happy just looking at them.
Like… this one might be more for me than the kids.

🌲 Mushroom Forest Situation (Functional + Adorable)
More cozy forest vibes.
More imaginative play.
More "I am a calm, grounded woodland mother now."

🎶 Hello Nostalgia (You Know the One)
You've seen this before.
You loved it as a kid.
It's still a must-have.

🧠 The "Everyone Fights Over This" Activity
When I worked at my mother-in-law's Montessori school…
👉 this was THE most popular activity across all ages
Like… kids would line up for this.
And honestly?
I get it.
I want to play with it too.
(I mean… WORK with it… obviously)

🌧️ Rain Maker (Wholesome, Clean Fun)
Simple.
Calming.
Mesmerizing.
No batteries. No chaos. Just vibes.

🧛♀️ Teething Must-Have (Save Your Nipples)
This one is not for sharing.
This is for your little teething vampire.
And more importantly…
👉 this is for YOU
Because if you know… you know.
🤍 Final Montessori Thought
You don't need a million loud, flashing, overstimulating toys.
You need:
👉 simple 👉 engaging 👉 well-made 👉 non-annoying
Things that actually hold their attention without frying their brains.
😂 Real Talk
Montessori is great.
But also…
👉 snacks still solve most problems 👉 and sometimes the iPad still wins
Balance, right?
